Following the release of BNXN's sophomore EP titled ‘Bad Since 97’, he took to his Twitter to tweet a celebratory post of the success of his album reaching the number one spot on Nigeria's Apple Music Album Chart. In the post, BNXN captioned it using a line from the Afrobeat singer Ruger's hit single ‘Girlfriend’, he tweeted “What If I", “What If I”, “What If I…cook”. 

Ruger who fires back at BNXN in his tweet replies saying “Get a solo hit then talk to me fatty bum bum”. Ruger also went head to hit back at fans of BNXN who instigated that he is bigger than him, he retorted telling them that BNXN has no solo hit unlike him and therefore they were not on same level.

‘Bad Since 97’ which currently tops up the Nigerian Apple Music Album Chart is the singer's sophomore project and was released on the 25th of August, 2022.
